Mindfulness practice is a natural way to enhance your health and reduce stress.
60-90% of physician visits are related to stress
Featured originally in 1993 in a Public Television Special, Healing and the Mind, with Bill Moyers, Mindfulness meditation was featured positively and accurately in prime time on ABC News in May 2011.

Mindfulness is mainstreaming in corporate America, in our school system, and in the US military, as well as in health care settings.  In a world overwhelmed with ever increasing and unremitting stresses, mindfulness practices have a huge array of applicability.
Mindfulness practices have applicability in health problems, with emotional pain, working with fear, panic and anxiety, time stress, sleep stress, relationship problems at home and at work, food stress, and stress over global events and changes.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a specific psychoeducational approach that teaches people to practice mindfulness meditation in the context of mind-body medicine for the purposes of stress reduction and improved health.  MBSR emphasizes the universality of mindfulness as a basic human capacity available to anyone who is willing to make the commitment to practice the meditation methods taught in the MBSR program.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction has been studied extensively and demonstrated strong health benefits in multiple conditions.  There are now well over one hundred scientific papers on aspects of the clinical applications of mindfulness, and the number is growing rapidly.  Results include decreased anxiety, mood disturbance, depression, anger, confusion, and total stress scores.

"Mindfulness arises as one pays attention - on purpose - in an allowing and accepting way to inner and outer experience unfolding in the present moment.  The capacity to be mindful lies in all human beings."
